What Can You Do Before Burning Springs Update In Fallout 76? | Events, Raids & Rewards
The highly anticipated Fallout 76: Burning Springs will officially launch on December 2nd, bringing the new map Burning Springs. Season 23 of FO76 will also be updated simultaneously, offering a wealth of gameplay and a captivating story.
Many players are undoubtedly eager to explore the new map. While the wait can be long, there are some things you can do to make sure you leave no regrets this season. Such as participating in the Milepost Zero event, completing raid instances, and checking your season rewards.
Milepost Zero Event
Fallout 76's PTS update announcement on October 6th stated that Milepost Zero event would no longer be available after December 2nd update. While the official statement indicated a future return in a better form, no specific date was given.
Milepost Zero event launched in September 2024 with FO76 Season 18 and has been with players for over a year. As a classic multiplayer mode in Fallout 76, Milepost Zero, despite its persistent issues, is still worth trying.
The main reason for recommending completing this event before the update is that FO76 promises to reward players who complete it before the update with a Caravan Investor title, an event banner, and 2000 gold bars. This reward is quite enticing, especially for players who enjoy collecting items.
However, it's almost the end of November, and some players may not have enough time to complete the event. Don't be too discouraged if you can't obtain all the rewards; the official team has provided new ways to acquire them.
You can acquire some Milepost Zero event rewards by trading with the following merchants in Highway Town:
- Splint: Redeemable for V63 Laser Carbin and accessory blueprints.
- Windy: Redeemable for Snow Globes sold by Milepost Zero merchants.
- Mac: Redeemable for decorative items, such as Makeshift Wine Rack and Noren Curtains.
The remaining Fallout 76 Items rewards will become event rewards for Spooky Scorched and Holiday Scorched, such as Lederhosen Outfit and Hat.
Complete Raids
Besides completing Milepost Zero event, you should also allocate some time to complete some raid challenges. Because Fallout 76 will be revamping Gleaming Depths in Season 23, raid rewards will also change accordingly.
According to the FO76 update announcement, the official plan is to add weekly challenges to Gleaming Depths. You must complete all content periodically to obtain rewards.
To accommodate the changes brought about by the addition of weekly challenges, Fallout 76 has redistributed raid rewards. The raid reward mechanism will now be such that the deeper you progress in the raid, the higher the quality of the rewards you can obtain.
After Season 23 update, raids will become a way for players to prove their strength, rather than a means to obtain specific rewards.
This is a good change for players who enjoy a challenge, but not so good for players who want to obtain the pieces they need through raids.
In current raid content, you can repeatedly farm a specific stage of a raid for a single piece of gear or blueprint. However, after Burning Springs update on December 2nd, obtaining some high-quality rewards will become more cumbersome. It will be tied to specific raids; you must complete those specific raids to obtain the reward.
Furthermore, due to the redistribution of raid rewards, some gear sets may require completing multiple different specific raids to collect all pieces.
For example, Power Armor currently only requires repeatedly farming EN06 Guardian to have a chance of obtaining the full set. However, after S23 update, this raid will only reward certain pieces of Power Armor; the remaining pieces will require completing other specific raids.
Therefore, you should check which blueprints or gear you need before the season update and complete as many raids as possible to obtain them now. Otherwise, once the new raids are released, you may need to spend much more time unlocking specific raids to obtain them.
