Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Patch 3.0.3: Avoid These Bannable Exploits and Prep for the 30th Anniversary Events

Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred patch 3.0.3 has officially launched. While this update doesn't include large-scale class balance adjustments, it precisely fixes several speed-farming bugs that could significantly affect the game's ecosystem, directly changing how you farm loot. However, some more serious bugs, even those considered cheating, are still circulating in the community.

Meanwhile, to celebrate Diablo's 30th anniversary, the official announcement includes two limited-time events next week: Blessing of Mother and Strike down Goblins.Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Patch 3.0.3: Avoid These Bannable Exploits and Prep for the 30th Anniversary Events

This guide will walk you through all the core changes in patch 3.0.3, details of the upcoming event, benefits, and the bug you should absolutely avoid.

New Patch Changes

First, let's talk about patch 3.0.3. Essentially, this update only fixes some bugs, but some of them will affect how you play Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred.

First, it fixes infinitely summoning Amalgam of Rage boss when using certain War Plan selections in Nightmare Dungeons. This node can still be used to easily farm Uniques exclusive to Amalgam of Rage, but it's not as easily abused as before.

Furthermore, Diablo 4 developers have fixed an issue in Nightmare Dungeons where challenge nodes could cause infinite goblin spawning. This was especially true for the treasure goblin that splits into multiple smaller goblins upon death, requiring multiple kills.

These goblins would respawn through specific nodes. If you could loop this mechanism through multiple consecutive shrines, you could generate an immeasurable number of goblins.

This is because each smaller goblin respawns into a complete larger goblin, which splits into several smaller goblins. It's like an infinitely nested Russian doll, allowing you to quickly harvest Diablo 4 Items.

The major problem Diablo 4 developers encountered was that as the number of players increased, the servers would experience issues because of the massive goblin spawning. While this issue was closely related to RNG, it could potentially cause server crashes, so it was quickly fixed.

The official Diablo 4 update mentions that because of War Plan node selection, Duriel will replace Blood Maiden, but killing Duriel will still contribute progress to Grim Favors quest, which requires killing Blood Maiden. This is crucial, as killing Blood Maiden's Grim Favors is one of the easiest objectives in Whispers of the Dead quest.

This issue initially attracted considerable attention from players, but Diablo 4 later resolved it with a hot fix. Based on my subsequent experience, killing Duriel allows Grim Favors quest to complete normally. However, if they also mentioned this in Patch 3.0.3, it suggests there might have been some issues previously.

Furthermore, they fixed a Diablo 4 LoH bug where multiple unique charms could be equipped in certain scenarios. Issues with Barbarians charm set bonus and Warlock Dirge of Odium unique effect have also been fixed.

Now, builds using Dirge of Odium unique should run more smoothly, as it no longer randomly consumes large amounts of resources. It will consistently maintain a stable 10% resource consumption per second, making it easier to keep your Diablo 4 character resource-rich and obtain all bonuses, and also generating additional dominance effects as wrath increases.

Bugs Still Needing Fixes

Besides, I'm unsure if Diablo 4 developers have started addressing an extremely absurd exploit: some players can create equipment with incredibly exaggerated appearances and affixes, and have found a way to tamper with leaderboard snapshots, making the displayed equipment completely different from the actual equipment used.

This directly makes it impossible for us to determine whether top-ranked players are abusing this mechanism. Therefore, even though the tower is still in the testing phase, this is an enormous problem for those who care about the fairness of the leaderboards; players can easily exploit this exploit.

Exploits in Diablo 4 vary in severity. Some are relatively minor, such as using mechanics or clever tactical plans to obtain extra loot, which is perfectly acceptable; however, this exploit is almost equivalent to cheating. I expect many players will be banned because of this, and I strongly advise everyone not to research or try to exploit it.

As far as I know, this practice seriously violates Terms of Service and has already caused huge controversy within the community. Diablo 4 developers will inevitably respond. Especially with LoH just launched, they must take immediate action to prevent such incidents from recurring and to maintain player trust in Diablo 4.

New Events

Diablo 4 has proclaimed two in-game events next week to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Diablo. Blessing of the Mother event will run concurrently with Strike down Goblins event. Both events have been held before.

Blessing of the Mother is a very simple, game-wide XP boost event, and it's quite effective. So, this is a good time to create alts or level up your Diablo 4 character. Strike down Goblins event increases goblin spawn rates.

In addition, the event reputation leaderboard has returned; completing the last rank will reward you with Regalia of the Sacred Creed. Also, starting June 1st, you can claim free weapon skins daily in Diablo 4 shop; there are five in total, and you can collect them over a week.

Overall, Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Patch 3.0.3 timely plugged some malicious interactions, and the accompanying Diablo 30th Anniversary celebration benefits are quite generous. Whether you're a new player or a veteran, now is the perfect time to create a new account and level up quickly.
