What Changes Will Rework Of Lair Bosses Bring In Diablo 4 Season 8? - New Bosses & Loot Changes
Dear fans of Diablo 4, I am sure you have heard the news that Season 8 and its new features will be released on April 29, 2025. This is undoubtedly exciting news, and we know that Diablo 4 is reworking the way Lair Boss system works in Season 8.
And the system is available for testing on the current PTR server and will be officially launched at the beginning of Season 8. Today we will talk about the rework of Lair bosses in Season 8.
The rework of Lair bosses will have many benefits for you, making it easier for you to earn Diablo 4 Gold. And it will also prevent cheaters who try to get loot by not sharing the designated summoning materials.
And what’s more surprising is that while some summoning materials are still there, they are there to ensure that you get loot during your run.
New Bosses
In addition, the rework of Lair bosses improves the way you face the bosses in the game. You can only face them in Torment I or higher, and new bosses are added. And to make it easier for you to master the game mechanics, it divides the bosses into three levels: Initiate, Greater, and Exalted.
- Initiate: Lord Zir, Beast in the Ice, Urivar, Varshan, and Grigoire
- Greater: Duriel, Andariel, and Harbinger of Hatred
- Exalted: Belial, Lord of Lies
Loot Changes
Instead of requiring you to use summoning materials to summon the boss, you are required to use materials to craft Lair Keys, which can open Boss Hoard at the end of the battle.
This means that you can fight Grigoire before using materials to craft Lair Keys to assess whether you are strong enough to defeat the enemy. And it is more clear that each boss’s Lair Keys requires a specific item to craft.
Here are the specific items you need to farm:
- Urivar: Judicator’s Mask
- Varshan: Malignant Heart
- Beast in the Ice: Distilled Fear
- Lord Zir: Exquisite Blood
- Harbinger of Hatred: Abhorrent Hearts
- Duriel: Shard of Agony
- Andariel: Pin-Cushioned Doll
- Belial, Lord of Lies: Betrayer’s Husk
- Grigoire: Living Steel
You may be worried about inventory management, but don’t worry, these Lair Keys can be stacked up to 99. After defeating Lair bosses, you can use Lair Keys to open the treasure chest and claim your specific loot. The interesting thing is that you can trade Lair Keys with other players.
These loots are also distributed in a certain way. The first loot you get comes from a specific Loot Table, but the loot you get after that has only a 50% chance of coming from the general Unique pool. It is worth mentioning that the system rewards grouping, as each additional party member has a 33% chance of getting an additional Unique item from the boss table pool.
And there are some small changes: Torment IV drops Unique items from 6 to 5. And the materials required to make Lair Keys will be displayed on Lair Boss location. Unlike before, once you find the Lair Boss location, you don’t have to start a tedious journey, but can be teleported directly to that location.
Overall, the changes brought about by the rework of Lair boss in Diablo 4 Season 8 will bring great convenience and new challenges to players. Let us look forward to the arrival of Diablo 4 Season 8 together.
