Dune Awakening Base Lighting: How To Fix A Dark Base At Noon?

In Dune Awakening, we will find that at noon, the light in the dunes in the base will be very poor and the surroundings will be dark. To solve this problem, we must first find out what causes this phenomenon and what happened.Dune Awakening Base Lighting: How To Fix A Dark Base At Noon?

Why Does The Light In The Base Get Worse At Noon?

When it is the brightest time of the day, due to numerical problems, we will see a white screen when we are outdoors, which is dazzling. To prevent this from happening, the game will automatically lower the player's Gamma when the light gets brighter during the day, and when night falls, Gamma will be raised again to allow the player's eyes to adapt to the screen.

However, the disadvantage of this adjustment mechanism is that it will cause the above problem between noon and 3 pm. You will be pitch dark in the base, even if you hold a lamp, because the visual obstruction caused by the reduction of Gamma cannot be solved by any light source.

To fix it, first you need to figure out where the sun rises and which side of the base the light hits during the day and night. Those are the sides we need to deal with.

Everyone's base is different, personally mine is the north-northeast and south-southwest sides.

What Are Some Ways To Fix This?

Watch Videos To Get Skins

You can unlock some skins by participating in Twitch Drops events and watching a few hours of Dune Awakening videos, which will help you install windows on those sides, which will be a big help.

Install Some Lights

You can also install some lights, which are useful at night. There is also a cool floor that has lights in it. It's not a strong light source, and it will help you a lot when you need to move around the base during the day.

However, you will find that the light in the base is still dimming near noon, and they don't solve the problem at the root.

Make Holes In The Base And Install Shield Wall

So,we have to use another method, which is to make holes in the base to make some water areas more difficult to find.

When we don't want to do things like Twitch Drops, windows are just a hindrance. To let in more light, we can choose to knock out the windows.

We can go up the building and knock out the ceiling to dig a 2x2 hole. If you are worried about other players or need to maintain things like Watersealed, you can use a Shield Wall here.

Although it is difficult for players to build a Shield Wall and may require Dune Awakening Solari, it is a 3x3 shield wall and has low energy consumption, only 27 power, which is lower than the energy required for a generator. So we can choose to put more Shield Walls instead of just making holes.

Installing Specific Energy Consumption Windows

We can also put a few more windows in the base that consume 12 power, or even put one for driving in and out, which will greatly improve the visibility of the base and make it clear within the player's line of sight.

Make Personal Light

Players can also make Personal Lights to see more clearly. Just press the zero button and it will illuminate the base, allowing players to walk around the base during the day with Personal Light.

However, this light does not always work properly, and it occasionally fails for a few minutes during the day, but we can solve this problem.

Although this failure does not occur every day, if you are concentrating on completing a task and Personal Light shorts out, it is really bad.

Therefore, although there are many ways for players to solve the lighting problem of the base, many of them are only temporary solutions. The way to solve the problem from the root is still Shield Walls, and it is extremely cost-effective.
